Turtle Marathon to be held on Sunday

Enjoy the fresh breeze and sun by taking part in the 398th Turtle Marathon this Sunday. Participants will be able to take a refreshing morning by walking through Mt. Nam with friends and family. 

Park Byung-mo, chief doctor at the Jaseng Hospital of Oriental Medicine, will lead this month’s event, together with Miss Koreas of 2010 and contestants of Mr. World Korea. 

Organized by The Korea Times’ sister paper, the Hankook Ilbo, the Turtle Marathon has been held once a month since 1978. Unlike an ordinary marathon, the Turtle Marathon enables participants to walk slowly and enjoy the air and surroundings. 

After the walk, comedian Lee Sang-yong will host a closing show. All of the participants will be offered free medical checkups by the hospital, learn the 123 health exercise routines in addition to various gifts including health books. Nongshim will offer drinks, while Orion will give out Choco Pies to participants. 

There will also be a raffle event for prizes such as bicycles, health beverage Damina 909 (Glamy), cosmetics (Logona Korea), meal coupons (The Buffet), earrings (Mucha Jewelry), movie tickets (Interpark), toilet paper (Mona Lisa) rice (NH Card) chairs (Duoback Korea ) and sneakers (Prospecs W). 

Certification for two hours of volunteer work will be given to middle and high school students who participate in a cleanup on the day.
